Serious about our faith, because we know how much we are loved.

Colossians 3 verse 1: {Message Bible} “So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it”.

That sounds blunt, but if we are serious about following Our Lord and Our Friend, we should be doing our best in everything we do. If we read on in verse 2: “Pursue the things that Christ. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up and be alert to what is going on around Christ— That’s where the action is. So see things from His perspective”.

These are instructions for real life, Our old lives are dead, that means dead to everything connected with the old life, the things that separated from walking with Our Lord and Our Friend. The old life was self absorbing, looking for ways to please self, doing whatever we feel like whenever we feel like it, without real purpose to it. That was a life shaped by self gratification, and had no room for God.

Now we have been given New Life, we are done with the old life. We now have a new wardrobe of clothing to put on, all flavored by the Fruits of The Spirit: Love, Joy, Peace, Kindness, Goodness, faith, Gentleness, self-control. Every item of our new wardrobe is made for our new life, and is custom made by the Creator, with His label on them.

Imagine an army of believers walking in this new custom made wardrobe, individually design for each one of us. It is not a one size fit all, we all must come before The Throne, so our new clothes can be custom made for us individually. We walk individually with Our Lord and Our Friend, and we come come together collective to form the Body of Christ.

The Body of Christ is, all people who have been granted resurrection life, through repentance in acknowledging, we had fallen short of God standards, and accepting His forgiveness and Grace, through what Christ Jesus did on the Cross for us, to have resurrection life.

“So if you are serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it” Scripture expects us to.
