Faithfulness
Faithfulness – seventh fruit of the Spirit mentioned in Galatians 5:22, and one
of the wonderful aspects of the nature of our Lord and Friend, Jesus Christ.
Some benefits to those who are faithful is the God preserves, guards, protects
and strengthens; God guides and blesses and His promises are to the faithful.
Some of my favorite scriptures on this subject are;
Lamentations 3:22-23 “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed.
Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your
faithfulness.”
2 Thessalonians 3:3 “But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard
you from the evil one”
1 Thessalonians 5:24 “He who calls you is faithful who also will do it”.
Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering,
for He who promised is faithful.”
(hmm without wavering? That’s a challenge in some seasons in life. When
sickness (or something else) attacks us or our loved ones, and the trial is long,
our hope may waver.
2 Timothy 2:13 “If we are faithless. He remains faithful, for He cannot deny
Himself”.
How wonderful is our Lord and Friend? This scripture is one that I love. When
I come to the end of myself, when there seems to be no answer and I feel like
giving up, I know that I can rely on Him. He remains faithful; He will do it;
every morning I can expect His mercies because His faithfulness is great. That
is His nature.
What a wonderful Heavenly Father. What an awesome Redeemer. We can
lean back in His loving arms and know (Exodus 33:14).His Presence goes with
us and He WILL give us rest. Rest = cease work movement in order to relax,
sleep or recover strength.
May you find rest in the faithfulness of our Lord and Friend this week. Kath
