The Book of Psalms contains favorite hymns and prayers, which were used in and continuing to be used in worship to Our Lord and King.
Worship is simply an expression of love, adoration, admiration, praise and awe for the glory, of Our God. Worship is giving God glory as He reveals His glory and purposes to us.
God wants his people to pour their hearts out to him, the proof of His desire is in the existence of the Psalms. There are 150 songs of diversity in the Psalms, in which God’s people cry out to Him for help and to rescue them from the wicked and praise Him for His goodness.
In the praise and worship and reflections, it is obvious that God values being in relationship with His people. It is the Holy Spirit Who nudged the psalmists to write what they wrote, and God chose what would be forever preserved in His Word.
It is amazing but no coincident that Psalms is the longest book in the Bible. God’s people praise and worship is what Our God desires, and he wants us with all that is within us.
The Psalms were written during the 1000-year period from the times of Moses until after the Babylonian exile. Many different types of reason they were written, some are worship songs for the whole of the people, others were written in intimate moments when believers had special times with their Lord and Friend.
From the valleys of life to the high places of life, the writers would always arrive at the conclusion God is good, He has plans for all of us and the plans are good. Jeremiah 29 verse 11.
The Book of Psalms shows that God doesn’t want to stand on the outside of the emotions and events of our lives, He wants to be with us in everything. Being honest with Him in our travels through life, is a wonderful part of drawing closer to Him, and that is one of His longing desires for all, who choose Him.
