Faith In Action ‘Our Choice To Believe’

Our Choice To Believe

We cannot inherit the personal experience of God’s power, from family or friends. Family and friends can help us come to Christ Jesus, but the decision to follow Him, belongs to each of us alone.

In 2 timothy 1 verse 5; Paul is talking about the faithful people in Timothy’s family, his grandmother Lois, and his mother Eunice, they displayed the faith, that lead Timothy to accept it for himself.

2 Timothy 3 verse 14: again, Paul speaking about Timothy: “But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believe”. There is a step that Timothy, like all of us need to take, it is from learning about Jesus corporately, to accept Him personally.

In 2 Kings 2 verse 9 to 13: After Elijah was swept to glory in the fiery chariot, it was time for Elisha to move beyond all he had learned from his teacher and trust himself to the Lord alone. The big question to be answered was, would Elisha continue dwelling on the past glory days of Elijah, or would he seek to be used and blessed by God daily in a powerful way?

Before he did anything else, Elisha boldly called on The Lord, Elijah’s God, to demonstrate His power through him. Elisha continued the ministry of Elijah, but Elisha’s power was not a leftover of Elijah’s, but Elisha’s own experience of God’s work through Him.

We can gain the cloak or covering of a faithful family, or a great teacher/preacher, but the Faith must be our own. as we trust Our Lord and Our Friend, He will do new and great things in and through us.It is time to step up to the plate, for ourselves, in our own personal knowledge and experience of a loving Lord and Friend. Dare to be used. Dare to dream, because God loves us individually, and He is wanting an individual commitment from each one of us.We corporately come together as The Body of Christ, but we remain individually loved by Our Lord and Our Friend.

God Bless.
