When the time came for Jesus to leave His disciples and go to His Father in heaven, Thomas said to Him; ‘Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?’ Jesus replied;
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him.” (John 14:6-7)
‘We believe that there are three persons in the Godhead – the Father, the son and the Holy Spirit, undivided in essence and co-equal in power and glory.’
Chapter 14:26 “But the helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”
Without the way, there is no going. Without the truth, there is no knowing. Without the life, there is no growing.
My thoughts went to how much like my parents I am in mannerisms, behaviors, beliefs, interests, disciplines and looks. Why? Well I am their child after all. I have their DNA. And even if I was adapted, they would have loved me and taught me just the same.
What a wonderful experience it is when we accept Jesus as our Savior and become part of God’s family, enjoying the love and care that He gives, and the teaching to become more like Him. He made us in His likeness. We share His DNA.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your gift of salvation, and the privilege of becoming part of your family. Please teach and correct, love and care for us and our families. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
