Insights Into ‘2nd John’

2 John

The Apostle John writes to urge discernment in supporting traveling teachers, since false teachers were also around teaching heresy.

God inspires John to write and He starts from {The Message Bible}:

“My dear congregation. I, your pastor, love you in very truth. And I’m not alone –everyone who knows the Truth that has taken up permanent residence in us loves you.”

But no matter who John’s readers are, he is excited that they are growing in the truth. They are living fully as God’s children, keeping his Kingdom invasion plan for the world in mind.

God’s kingdom is not of the world, it is an invasion of people hearts, changing them from the inside out, into God’s kingdom people living in this world.

John reminds the readers to love one another and to demonstrate their love for God living in God’s plans and purpose for their lives.

God also prompts John to warn the believers of the dangers of false teachers. There are people who claim to be believers, perhaps traveling around as teachers, These teachers are declaring that Jesus didn’t come in the flesh. This is a dangerous teaching. They are teachers who they should not associate with they are deceivers and antichrists.

It is clear that from the Garden of Eden, God truth have an enemy, and we do too. Jesus tells us to be wise as snakes and innocent as doves because the dangers are real.

We are to love each other with all our energy and effort, stand guard around the truth and follow the guidance of The Holy Spirit when His truth is being compromised The Holy Spirit will lead us to reject the teachings and the false teachers who proclaim it.

God is looking out for us as He warns us to preach His truth, it is apart of how much He loves us.

God Bless.
