Matthew 5, we find The Sermon On The Mount. where Jesus walks up a mountain with His Friends, and begins to teach people His ways.
Symbolic in itself, Jesus walk up a mountain with His friends.
Jesus will walk everywhere with His friends, because it is a promise. Hebrews 13 verse 5: “Be satisfied with what you have, for He Himself has said, I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU OR FORSAKE YOU.”
Jesus who home is in heaven, gives insight into the ways of God’s Kingdom. These are the ways of life that he wants people to get used to living right now. The teaching is opposite from the ways of the world because the world is broken. Jesus is teaching the right way.
Hardship in this broken world push us into deeper knowledge of God and His Kingdom. Daily, God graciously pours out sunshine and rain on people who don’t deserve it. We are to love others generously too.
Jesus teaches how to have a conversation with the King of the universe, who invites us to call Him ‘Father’ Abba Father, Papa. Jesus instructs us to spend time with Him, so that no matter what we go through He is the center of our lives.
Jesus points out the folly of worry. As much loved sons and daughters of the God that created us, we should not worry. Because of His promise He will not fail in taking care of us.
The Sermon on the Mount is the King of Heaven sitting down among his creations, teaching them about His wonderful home- their home- and inviting us all to live in it.
A mountain experience to some, might be a wonderful experience, a mountain experience to others might seem like ‘here we go again’. What ever mountain top experience we are going through, His Promises are true. “He will never leave us or forsake us’.
That comes with Kingdom living, the world is not our home, we are just passing through.
