Weekend Inspiration

To live what we believe, so why is it so hard to get a consensus about Christian belief. Some how we either read to much into things, or we are skeptical of what we are told.

Mark 10 verse 15: {NKJV} ““Assuredly, I say to you, whatever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by know means enter”.

Little children trust, their  trust is pure, and somehow easier for them to see truth.

There is an old Hymn ‘Tell, me that Old Old Story’, which is good to reflect on from the perspectives of a child. As we grow old, we are more like to say, “I heard all about that, I don’t need to hear it anymore’. But the story of the Hymn is a life inspiring one, that we should never grow tired of. It about Jesus and His love.

To be truly ‘Loved’ is what people of all ages, desperately need, and to know the Great love that God has for them, it becomes more than a story, it becomes the source of a great and inspirational type of life.

Love has no bounds, it is the one thing that people can come to consensus about. Pure Love which The Father bestows on us through His Son, is above any skepticism, because it can be absorbed and lived.

Tell me the Old, Old Story, of Jesus and His Love, we need to constantly hear it, it is life giving, life changing and life inspiring.

“Tell me the Old, Old Story“.

V1: Tell me the Old, Old Story

of unseen things above,

Of Jesus and His glory,

Of Jesus and His love.

Tell me the Story simply,

as to a little child,

For I am weak and weary,

And helpless and defiled.

Tell me the Old, Old Story

Of Jesus and His Love.

V2: Tell me the Story slowly,

That I may take it in—

That wonderful redemption,

God’s remedy for sin.

Tell me the story often,

For I forget so soon;

The ‘early dew’ of morning

Has passed away at noon.

V3: Tell me the Story softly,

With earnest tones and grave;

Remember ! I’m a sinner

Whom Jesus came to save.

Tell me the Story always,

If you would rally be,

in any time of trouble,

A comfort to me.

V4: Tell me the same Old Story,

When you have cause to fear

That this world’s empty glory

is costing me too dear,

Yes, and when that world’s glory

Is dawning on my soul,

Tell me the Old, Old Story;

“Christ Jesus makes thee whole”

Now that is a story whether we are young, middle aged or old, that should be enjoyed over and over again. The Love of Our Father God in sending His Son, that we may have newness of life.
