Scripture Verse Of The Week ‘ 1 Kings 18 Verse 21’

paradox

1 Kings 18 Verse 21: “Then Elijah stood in front of them and said. ‘How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions’.” {NLT

Elijah was standing up for his beliefs, against the false prophets of Baal. It is a great story of believing and knowing why you truly believe. The Verse is longer than what we have used and goes on to say. “”If the Lord is God, follow Him!” “But if Baal is God. follow him!” But the people were completely silent”. {NLT}

“How much longer will we waver, between two opinions” It is really a choice between God and the world. In a day when there appears to be an opinion, where we can have God in our lives and go on living a way that does not reflect Him.

If  Jesus Christ is Lord of our lives, than make Him Lord of everything, dare to believe Jeremiah 29 verse 11: “For I know the plans I have for you’, says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope’.”

The winners in God’s Kingdom are those who settle their critical issues early and mange them daily. If we are not careful we will make life altering decisions based on tempory situations and not on Our Lord and Our Friend’s will for us.

It takes honesty communication in prayer with Our lord and Our Friend to know what our real issues are, and to make good decisions accordingly. It also takes character and perserverance to determine what happens after our decisions are made. The great thing is once we decide, then commit it to the Lord. He will give us the strength each and every day to live by them.

He wants to be Lord of All and we need to make Him. Lord of All. There is never anytime in our lives. in stalling this decision.

God Bless.
