If this is your day for rest, like us all you still need encouragement. Be encouraged by this wonderful verse from 1 Peter 3 verse 3 and 4:
1 Peter 3 verse 3 and 4:
v3: :” Your beauty should not consist of outward things like elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold ornaments or fine clothes”; V4 “instead, it should consist of the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable quality of gentle and quiet spirit, which is very valuable in God’s eyes”.
What ornaments adorn our hearts?
In these verse the Apostle Peter endeavors to warn us Christians from the vanity of outward adornment and bring us into love with the better ornaments, those of the mind, the graces of the wonderful Spirit, called “the hidden man of the heart”, one of which is meekness and quietness of spirit.
There is a power in meekness and a quiet Spirit, which is opposite to anything the world would say.
In Matthew 5 verse 5: “The meek are blessed for they shall inherit the earth”.
In Psalm 46 verse 10; it tells us to be still, so we can know more about our Loving God.
The adorning ornaments, we need are far more excellent and valued then gold, pearls and any costly array. it is an adorning of the inner man that can only come from the Throne room of God.
They are priceless ornament available to us by the Grace of God. Adornments to wear with great pride and reverence to Our God. A commitment to wearing so that through wearing them, people will know that we are His disciples.
In God’s Kingdom which we now belong to, by repentance and acceptance of Our Lord and Our Friend. The beauty and power of courageFruita meek and quite Spirit, allows us to have, and gives us true Victory, true Beauty, and true Courage.
Lets adorn our lives with the things Our Lord and Our Friend has for us.
