The New Covenant Newness Of Life

newness

The joy of reading the Bible, My Lord My Friend.com was established to help and to get people reading the Bible.

We unashamedly say The Bible is ‘The Word Of God’ to us, and will be to all who believe in Our Lord and Our Friend.

The Old Testament under The Old Covenant {The Books between Genesis and Malachi} people would year by year, offer a blood sacrifice for their sins {wrong doings} before God. This would happen on ‘The Day of Atonement’..

In The New Testament {Books between Matthew and Revelation}, The New Covenant, involved the one-time sacrifice  of Christ Jesus on the Cross.

If we read the Book of Hebrews for The New testament, it explains the Old Testament Old Covenant, God had with His People. It involved people obtaining forgiveness progressively year after year on the Day Of Atonement.

But In The New Testament, New Covenant, through the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus, involved people receiving forgiveness and cleansed once and for all.

This comes only by accepting The New Covenant and what Our Lord and Our Friend did for us on the Cross. Through Repentance and acceptance Our Lord and Our Friend, we have forgiveness, and all things becomes NEW in our lives,

We can still tarnish our newness of life by wrong-doings {sin}, but if we confess our wrong-doings as it says in 1 John 1 verse 9:

“If we confess our sins, He {Jesus} is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”.

The New Testament brings a New Covenant with God. The New Covenant is a relationship Covenant, with Our Lord and Our Friend, through repentance and acceptance of all He has done for us, which brings us to a place where we are, empowered by the Holy Spirit.

By this we now have newness of life and with His help we will walk in this newness of life, where the power of sin cannot hold us back.

We were all created for destiny and purpose, But in wrong-doing against God stole our destiny, Christ Jesus paid the price to restore our Destiny to us.

If you have never asked Christ Jesus to be Your Lord and Your Friend we challenge you today to take that step, and return to your eternal destiny with Him.

God Bless.

Ps This is a devotional flashback, written by OFJ a couple of years  ago.
