Reflective Moment “Just As You Are’

confess

Just as we are, we can come to Christ Jesus. He accepts us just the way we are, but never leaves us that way.

John 3 verse 16: “For God loved the world in this way; He gave His One and Only Son, so that so that ‘Everyone’ who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life”.

Some translation use ‘Whosoever’ instead of everyone, but it is the same picture, the picture includes you and me.

God loves you, and loves us all individually, to much to leave us the way we are. Yes! The God that created us wants to transform our life, into the life He created for each of us,to commune with Him.

The first step in coming is, coming with all that we are and have, no matter how messed up we feel our lives are, or how important or unimportant we feel we are. We can come to Christ Jesus, {who we refer to as Our Lord and Our Friend}, to become Our Lord and Our Friend at anytime.

The second step is to acknowledge, that there is nothing that we have done, that deserves, that we come. It is by God’s Grace {God’s unmerited favor}, we are allowed to come.

God’s grace paid the price for all of us to come, our sins {wrongdoing against God’s ways} had separated all of us from His Transforming Love, but now through the Cross, the price of separation has been paid by Christ Jesus.

I still recall the Hymn,  I walk forward to. all those years ago, as I responded, to His call, “Just as I  Am”

Here is that Hymn, read it , reflect and enjoy it and if you are not a Christian yet, you too can come just as you are.

V1 Just as I am – without one plea,

But that thy blood was shed for me,

And that Thou bidd’st me come to thee.

O Lamb of God I come!

V2 Just as I am – poor, wretched, blind,

Sight, riches, healing of the mind;

Yea! all I need, in Thee to find,

O Lamb of God< I come.

V3 Just as I am – Thou wilt receive, ‘

Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve:

Because thy promise I believe,

Oh Lamb of God, I come!

V4 Just as I am- Thy love unknown

Has broken down barrier down;

Now to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,

Oh Lamb of God I come!

Our Lord and Our Friend is waiting, with an open invitation, for any ‘whosoever’. It is  the greatest step any one can take, to begin a journey with Christ Jesus, as Lord, Redeemer and Friend.

We have a prayer that you can say, in our witnessing helps, if you do take the time to say that prayer, please let us know and we will only to willing to help you in your questions, or point you to someone near you.

God Bless.

O F J.
