What Fascinates Us

What Fascinates Us.

My eyes are on the temporal as I took my walk today,

But my thoughts are on the eternal, which can only be seen in nature’s display.

How do we get our sights and thoughts stuck on things that are temporal to us.

Sure we have to work. live and play, in the moon and sun, night or day.

But our eyes and thoughts should be on the eternal, the place really made for us.

We were up early this morning, we had an appointment, before the appointment which was in a building next to a park, I had the above reflection. Then this verse came to me, 2 Corinthians 4 verse 18:

“So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen; for what is seen is temporary; but what is unseen is eternal”.

In Numbers Chapter 13 and 14:

13 verse 1and 2
The Lord spoke to Moses, send men to scout the land I am giving to you”.

12 men went out, 10 come back with the way most people see things, 2 men came back, and saw with a different vision.

God had given Moses and The people to land. 10 saw problems, 2 saw what God wanted them to see, even though there were obstacle, with God on there side they could enter the land of promise.

Even though all of the men had the technical skills to assess the lay of the land, most of  them lack the vision and courage meed to take hold of the promises.

The reason we had a appointment this morning, is apart of my wife’s treatment, for a life treating illness she has. We too could go through life with vision like the 10 men, everything is to hard. But we choose to have the vision of 2, that came back with a good report.

Through the darkness, and gloom, we see, the wonderful people we have met, we would have never, if my wife situation had not come along. Through the darkness, we often just lay on the bed and sing, ‘The Joy of The Lord is our strength. Through the darkness, we just like any ‘whosoever’ can see the plans and promises of our Wonderful Lord and Friend, has for us and any ‘whosoever’ that is prepared to trust in Him.

Luke 24 verse 31: Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized Him.’

They had been walking around {24 v 15} there eyes were not blind folded, but they were somehow prevented from recognizing Him. Jesus entered their walk, while they were in some dispute. Jesus answered a lot of their concerns.

We don’t need to walking around in disillusionment and dispute, we need to open our eyes and recognize, in everything we do His  Grace is sufficient for us. 2 Corinthians 12 verse 9.

Our eyes need to be on Him, in our fears, our doubts, our problems, then we will have a different vision, where our thoughts and our vision are always eternal.

God Bless,
