An Easter Contemplation

Why do we build castle of safety for ourselves. Wall so we don’t get hurt, A moat so no one gets real close. A draw bridge so we only let in the things that we like.

Psalm 46 verse 1: “God is our refuge and strength, a helper who always found in times of trouble”.

We were created for Him to be our refuge, a place where we find love, a place where we find fellowship, a place where we can feel safe. It a place that has been built for us, there is nothing we have to add. But for some reason we want more, more in a life that is so fleeting, where as in His presence, we have it all.

Perhaps we don’t under stand the package, we have only taken off the outer gift paper, and know that Christ Jesus wants to be Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend. We accept that, but never go on to understand, the excitement of the whole gift we have been given.

The Whole Gift in Christ Jesus, is real life. We need to look at the life of Jesus,  and we will see what creation and the universe means. To look gazingly into His life, we see the way God is and the way God works are incarnate in Him. To receive Jesus is to tune in the universe, to live the way we were designed to live.

We become Kingdom people. and Kingdom means the reigning of God in our hearts. It is not territories or borders, as we understand them. It His people, not property who  follow and acknowledge Christ Jesus as Lord.

Easter is a wonderful time to celebrate this. The Kingdom became a living reality through Jesus’ death and resurrection. Jesus spoke less about the Kingdom and more about the cross . Because The Kingdom only becomes a Kingdom for us, through what Jesus did on the cross. His death is the Key to the Kingdom, the door by which we enter.

Matthew 16 verse 24: “Then Jesus said to His Disciples, ‘If anyone wants to come with Me, he {or she} must deny himself {or herself} take up his {or her} cross, and follow Me’.”

The reality of following Jesus, even though it is the most real and wonderful, thing we will ever do, requires a cost, of dying to self and losing ourselves in all He and The Father and The Holy Spirit has for us. That not a promise of no troubles in this life, He a Promise, He will never leave us or forsake us, no matter what we go through.

Hebrews 13 verse 5: “I will never leave you or forsake you”.

God’s Gift of Salvation, is a gift that keeps on giving, but not in material rewards, it is a Gift of walking with The Creator of the Universe, in a daily walk and learning from Him Daily. He has much to teach us, and we should never be able to get bored.

Perhaps if, we are struggling in our Kingdom walking, we need to come back to the cross, and leave our burdens there. Take the time this Easter, to renew ourselves in Him.

After having ourselves, refreshed, in the amazing love, God displays in the Easter Celebration. Let us sing with more gusto, “I am going to get more excited and I am going to tell more people that Jesus Christ is King”. That is a way to keep ourselves fresh, if our lives are more about Him and less about ourselves.

God Bless.
