Psalm 139 celebrates the fact that God is present wherever David goes, or even imagines going. First David looks up at the sky, then down towards the ground. Then he looks east towards ‘the wings of the dawn,’ and west toward the Mediterranean Sea.

Wherever David thinks of going, he has the certainty that God will be with him in that place. we too can be comforted as David was, by the Presence of Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend. It comes from a transformed attitude, through repentance to Him, and acceptance of Him.

We just can’t come to Him and expect our lives to be the same. We are coming to A God that will stick by us, no matter what we go through. It is not just coming to a religious concept, it is coming to the King Of Kings.

Lets stop and celebrate right now and to thank Our Lord and Our Friend, for His ever-present, watchful care and concern over and around us,

Living in His Presence has blessing, but it also has responsibilities.

Psalm 139 is Subtitled, ‘The All-knowing, Ever-Present God, let us reflect on verse 5 and 6:

“You have encircled me; You have placed Your Hand on me, This extraordinary knowledge is beyond me.”

Now that is worth pondering.
