As we reflect on the songs of Faith of all the faithful who have gone before, we know can’t have hand me down faith, but we can admire the faith of the faithful from times gone by. People who have built their lives around faith in the God that created them.
Faith is a personal commitment, and a personal acceptance and commitment, of Christ Jesus to allow Him to become ,Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend. Hymns and songs written perhaps many years ago displayed the faith, that was apart of their lives. of these people who have gone before.
This Hymn we are using today is just as relevant now as it has been through the years, ‘Life wears a different face to me’.
V1: Life wears a different face to me,
Since I found my Savoir;
Rich mercy at His cross I see,
My kind and loving Savior.
V2: He sought me in His wondrous love,
Thus I found my Savior;
He brought salvation from above,
My own, my precious Savior.
V3: Though passing clouds have intervened,
Since I found my Savior,
Yet He is with me, through unseen,
My ever-present Savior.
V4; His hand still firmly holds my own,
Since I found my Savior;
He leads me onward to the Throne,
Oh, there I’ll see my Savior!
Chorus;
Doubts and fears have passed away,
Jesus turns my night to day;
Heaven seems not far away,
Since I found my Savior.
Same wonder words ring true today, ‘Doubts and fears have passed away, Jesus turns my night to day, Heaven seems not so far away, since I found my Savior.
The songs speaks of knowing the Savior personally, by using the words, ‘My Savior”. We all need to come to Him and accept Him individually, as Our Lord, Our Savior, Our Redeemer and Our Friend, so we can come together corporately as the body of Christ, There are many members in The Body of Christ.
Let us all readily wear a different face, that displays who our Savior is to us.
God Bless.
