Reflective Moment ‘Burning Commitment’

fire

Leviticus 6 verse 13: {KJV}: “the fire shall ever be burning upon the alter, it shall never go out.”

Many are said to have a burning passion, but there are two types of fire. There is the burning passion of fanaticism, and when we look at the story of Saul of Tarsus in the book of Acts. Saul was a wild fanatic before he came to know Christ Jesus, but once his life was set on fire by God, he burned with the steady flame of The Holy Spirit.

The fire from heaven is a fire that inflames us, not with a wold fanaticism. but with a wondrous faith. Our lives become like the alter in Leviticus, the fire of the Holy Spirit must burn continuously, and it must not go out.

We can take a lesson from the Laodicean Church in Revelation {3 verses 14 to 22}. The Laodiceans were lukewarm believers were lukewarm believers and Christ Jesus said to them that unless they got on fire He He would spew them out of His mouth.

What a tragedy, a fire that a Body of believers once had, had become a lukewarm smolder. A warning to us all, but the true fire, the heavenly fire, the fire of deep devotion to Our Lord and Our Friend, burns with a alter, haflame, that is to be continually kept on the alter of our heart, and never go out.

To keep it burning we need the Oil of commitment, which is extracted by continually living and learning, from His Word {The Bible}.

God Bless.
