They crucified Him, He who had no sin, was crucified in our place on a cross. Yet these are the words He spoke from that place, where He paid the price to set us free.
Luke 23 verse 34; “Then Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them, because they do not know what they are doing’.’
His forgiveness can come even for our ignorance.
John 19 verse 26 and 27: “Woman, here is your son”. Jesus was making sure His earthly mother would be taken care of an said to John; “Here is your mother”.
Despite the pain He was suffering, Jesus displayed He always cares.
Mark 15 verse 34: “and at three Jesus cried out with a loud voice, ‘Eloi, Eloi, lema, sabachthani?’ which is translated, My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
Jesus was carrying the sin of the world on Him, sins and wrong-doings he knew would hold us back, God The Father could not look at God The Son because of the sin that he was carrying for all of us.
Luke 23 verse 43: Anytime is a good time to repent and accept Christ Jesus as Our Lord, Our Savor, Our Redeemer and Our Friend. The thief on one side of Him did just that and Jesus told him: “I assure you; Today you will be with me in paradise”.
On the cross a man who was a thief obtained the assurance of salvation. An assurance that is there for anyone who repents no matter what the crime. They might have to do the worldly jail time, but the assurance of salvation will be theirs.
John 19 verse 28: “I Am thirsty”. Sour wine was put on a sponge and by hyssop, was held to His mouth.
The bitterness of sin was applied to Him, but hyssop speak of faith. Jesus had the faith to follow The Father’s instructions, knowing His Father would not let Him down. Hyssop speaks of the faith we must have to take the bitterness of our sins {wrong-doings} to Him, and repent of our wrong-doings and He will never let us down either.
John 19 verse 30: Jesus says, “It is finished”. The task He came down from the throne room to do is finished, the price of separation from God because of sin {wrong-doings} had been paid.
This Easter lets all take the time to reflect, why Christ Jesus, would do what He did, because He being Who He truly is could have called it off at anytime. But He hung on that cross so we could be free from the power of sin, because that is HOW MUCH HE LOVES US.
God Bless.
