There is an old saying that ‘talk is cheap’. it is easy to express sentiment such as loyalty, love or respect. But the real question is, What happens when our commitment cost us something?
1 John 3 verse 18; Tells us;
“Little children, we must not love in word or speech, but in deed and truth”.
1 Peter 2 verses 11 &12: tells us:
V11: “Dear friends, I urge you as aliens and temporary residents to abstain from fleshly desires that war against you”.
V12: “Conduct yourselves honorably among the Gentiles, so that in case where they speak against you as those who do evil, they may by observing your observing your good works, glorify God in a day of visitation”.
Commitment to be honorable representatives, of Our Lord and Our Friend, our silent witness of deeds and actions, will lead to verbal witness, as people ask why we are different from the world.
As His followers today we need to translate our words and thought into actions, even if it cost us something’
1 John 3 verse 19: assures us:
“That is how we will know we are of the Truth, and will convince our hearts in His presence”.
Our commitment needs to be out of love, because one thing will remain clear; Nothing that we do ever puts Our Lord and Our Friend in our debt, rather our commitment should be, forever obligated to Him, because He first loved us.
God Bless.
