The word Humility comes from the Latin word ‘humas’, meaning earth.
To live in humility is to be earthed and grounded.
Humility means acknowledging our ‘God-centeredness’ and relinquishing our self-centeredness. Humility is often called bridal strength.
Humility therefore i not a sign of weakness, but strength. Not one of the Fruits of The Spirit listed in Galatians 5 verse 22: But Humility should be growing in our garden of life.
Our Lord and Our Friend is our example, He completed the ultimate act of humility, when He emptied Himself of His Divine Glory and died on the cross, in our place. Death could not hold Him down, and He rose again to New Life, which is now available to us all. If we humbly accept it by repentance, and by acknowledging there is nothing we can do to earn this Great Gift.
God Bless.
