Anxiety

We have written on this subject before, It is a subject the enemies like to catch us off guard with. How do we respond when everything in life seems to be going badly. I can assure you nobody is immuned, from tough times, but it is what we do in the tough times that can change the effect on us all.

Speaking from personal experience at the moment, my wife and I are facing this challenge that anxiety brings. David in Psalm 22 verses 1 to 18: cried out to God with anxiety and despair. David felt:

Abandoned and helpless.

Despised and rejected.

Ridiculed for his faith.

Taunted by his enemies.

Drained and on the verge of death.

However at the end of his sufferings David was able to affirm that God was still near and capable of delivering him.

To whom do we turn to when things go badly, Our Lord and Our Friend said He would never leave us or forsake us. We have a constant source of help. Matthew 6 verse 25: tells us not to worry.

Matthew 6 verse 33: tells us: “But seek first the Kingdom of God and  His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you”.

The Good News is if Christ Jesus is Our Lord and Our Friend, He is also our King of Kings, and we belong to His Kingdom. We no longer have to seek the Kingdom, we need to seek more time with The King.

Our King has great plans for our lives, and no matter how bad things seem to get, His promises are sure.

Psalm 23 verse 4: “Even when I go through the darkest valley, i fear no danger, for you are with me; Your rod and your staff– they comfort me”.

It is one of the greatest pleasure we can have, when anxiety and testing come our way, is to seek out more of Our King, through His Word.

 God Bless.
