Reflective Moment ‘Prayer’

The Lord’s Prayer was used twice by Jesus during His earthly ministry. The first time was in the Sermon on the Mount. The next time was in His Third year of His ministry.

The Lord never intended for us to repeat the Lord’s Prayer repetitiously as a formula. Jesus said that we should pray the Lord’s Prayer ‘after this manner’. The word ‘manner’ is pattern, so the Lord’s Prayer is a pattern for us to pray, not an exact formula.

It starts with coming to God and addressing Him, with Awe and Reverence. acknowledging .Him for all Who He is and what He has done for us.

We are to come to Him for our daily needs, He already knows what we need,  but He always leaves it to us to ask Him, for them.

Nothing can be achieved without repentance, so we need to forgive anybody we have a grievance against, before we can expect an answer.

The world is a very deceiving place, because Satan still controls the world by deception. We need to ask for strength to overcome the evil one and all his deception. Otherwise we will be tempted, but with the Lord’s help, we will see through the temptation and overcome it.

We finish by giving Glory to God, because in all His Majesty, He created us to commune with Him.

The Lord’s Prayer is a Great Prayer, but understanding the Worship which is apart of the prayer, is real communication with God.

Prayer is after all communication with Our Creator God, Who is also Our Lord and Our Friend.

God Bless.
