1 Corinthians 13 verse 4 “Love is patient, love is kind,  Love does not envy; is not boastful; is not conceited:

If you want to be able to love others, you need to learn to love yourself. Loving God with all your heart and understanding His great Love for you, provides the foundation that makes it possible to love others.

All too often as Christians we fail to see the need to love ourselves, and fall in the trap of self-degradation and false humility. This will always lead to low self-esteem. It also causes a strain on and in many of our relationship.

If we read 1 Corinthians 13 verse 4 to 8, it would help us understand the greatness of the effects of love, not only so we can love ourselves better, but also so we can see the great need to share The God type of love.

The love the world has or calls love couldn’t even be called a shadow of The Love that Our Lord and Our Friend has for us, and wants us to live out of.

Verse 8 states “Love never fails.”

To fulfill the Great Commission that Our Lord and Our Friend has given to us, we must first understand the need to love ourselves, so we can love our neighbors as we do ourselves, and then one Neighborhood at a time, we can take the Good News of The kingdom of God, to a dying world.

As Christians, we cannot base our ability to love others on anything other than God’s love for us.

God Bless.
