Scripture Of The Week – Luke 12:2

Luke 12 verse 2:

“There is nothing covered that won’t be uncovered, nothing hidden that won’t be made known.”

Secrets nothing is hidden from God, the context of this verse goes back to the chapter before, let look at it:
Luke 11 verses 53 and 54, Luke 12 verse 1:

V53 “When he left, the Scribes and the Pharisees began to oppose him {Jesus} fiercely and cross examine Him about many things:

V54 They were lying in wait for Him to trap Him in something He said.

V1 In these circumstances, a crowd of many thousands came together, so that they were trampling on one another. He {Jesus} began to say to His disciples first ‘Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy’.”

The officials were trying to catch Jesus out with what he said. They were only looking at Jesus as a man, they had no idea that He was truly God who came in flesh.

As we stated in our recent article My God, My Lord, My friend, Jesus was both the All Powerful, for whom nothing is impossible, and the man of sorrows, who can sympathize with us in our human weaknesses.

Jesus walked the earth demonstrating awesome Humility. He came because of His Father and His great love for us. Jesus could have called His mission of salvation off, at anytime, but was held by His Great Love, to achieve what He came to do. To set those who believed in Him from the power of sin.

Jesus knew what the officials were thinking, they were caught in their own self-righteousness and hypocrisy. They were trying to stir up trouble in the large crowd.

But Jesus could not be caught out. He Knows our every thought.

We will all be called to give account, one day of every word, we have spoken both good and bad, and as it says “whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the Light before Jesus.”

Let all our words reflect Our Lord and Our Friend.

Let the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts always be acceptable to Our Lord and Our Friend.

Do not be caught up in the YEAST OF THE PHARISEES, that will give rise to hypocrisy and self-righteousness in our lives.

God Bless.
