We have spoken on this topic before but you can never have enough of forgiveness. If you realize just how much and to what extraordinary length Our Lord and Our friend went to forgive us.

Forgiveness is also absolutely necessary for walking in good favor with God. Let look in the Gospel of Mark 11 verse 25; “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven will also forgive you your wrongdoings.”

We can not hold anything against anybody, it is that simple. We have all been offended by various people we love, and by various people that we have in our lives we don’t necessarily love, or perhaps just people of random encounters.

Some of these things that these various people do to offend us, it takes a long time for us to release them from the offenses against us. When we do forgive them, forgiveness accomplishes two things immediately that are Hugh benefit to us all personally.

The first, the pressure is taken off the relationship. We are freed to look at them in an innocent way with no animosity.

Secondly we are freed from the control that forgiveness brings to our lives.

Yes unforgiveness can control us it is a sin. we allow the offense to control our emotions for years, and we are under a cloud of offense until we forgive.

Our example is Christ Jesus {Our Lord and Our friend}, even on the cross, a place He shouldn’t have been, but He hung there for us. He said “Father forgive them.”

Don’t let them take hold and control your life, forgive just as you have been forgiven.

It might be a hard step to take, but it is a great leap of faith, not to allow yourself to be controlled by this obnoxious sin.

Come to the foot of the Cross, it is empty now, because you have been forgiven and given new life.

Freely give of the forgiveness you have received.

God Bless.
