Faith In Action – By The Old Fellow

My Lord My Friend is the statement behind our beliefs. We believe and know that Jesus is our Lord and Friend.

We at 2 trees ministries we want to encourage everybody to live the life that we have been called to live in His word.

To become believers, followers or Christians or whatever it is you wish to be called. The title doesn’t matter, the fact that you are redeemed does!

Take a line from a singing group song, “My best friend is the creator of the universe”.

Are we really aware of the truth that the creator of the universe wants to be our friend? I don’t think we will ever understand just how much He loves us, and that we will ever understand real love, real relationship, until we accept the love He wants to give us.

One of the greatest affirmations of faith is the Nicene Creed.

“I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in One Lord Jesus Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, begotten of the father, before all worlds, God from God, Light from Light, very God of very God.

Begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made.

Who for us men and for our salvation, came down from heave, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man, and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate.

He suffered and was buried, and on the third day, He rose again, according to the scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father,

and He shall come again with Glory to judge both the quick (alive) and the dead, whose Kingdom shall have no end.

And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and The Son, who with the Father and Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets.

And I believe in one holy and apostolic church, and acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sin, and I look for the resurrection life in the the dead, and the life of the world to come.”

This was written by early believers in the Faith as a confirmation of their faith.

The sinners prayer is also a statement of faith where we acknowledge who Jesus is and what He did for us on the cross, and say sorry for our wrong doings and ask Him to come into our life to help us as our Lord and Friend.

Maybe it’s time for us to further put our faith in God, and step into a place where we are daily renewing our salvation with God. Putting on the robes of faith, and walking together in likeness with Our Lord, Our Friend.

Blessings,

Old Fellow John
