Presence
This week one of our daily readings was about being changed from the
inside out; about being transformed by the glory of God’s Presence in
our lives; of how everything changes as we are aware and yield to the
reality of the life of our Lord and Friend working in us.
I was struck by the word ‘Presence’ and started to ponder on the ‘power
of presence’.
Have you ever been told ‘ I am with you in spirit’, whenever someone is
unable to attend an event you are holding? I have said it myself. But
lately I have become more aware of the importance of actually being
present with another person. Chatting on the phone or sending a text or
email is so convenient, but how much better is it when we can be
present in person with each other.
In Exodus 33:14, the Lord said to Moses “My Presence will go with you,
and I will give you rest.” This verse was one of the earliest Scriptures
that I memorized, which has ministered to me repeatedly in my walk with
the Lord. God promises Moses and the people of Israel, His direct,
personal companionship instead of just sending an angel or leaving
them to walk alone. His promise is still true for us today.
May you be encouraged this week, knowing that our Lord and our Friend,
the Creator of this amazing universe, loves to be Present with us, every
moment of every day. He loves to be with you. He delights in you. He
sings over you. How amazing.
Shalom.
