If this is your day for rest, like us all you still need to be encouraged. Be encouraged today by this wonderful verse from Psalm 124 verse 8:
Psalm 124 verse 8: “Our help is in the name of The Lord, Maker of heaven and earth”.
Gratitude perhaps does not come easily to us. Perhaps we believe we have become so self-sufficient, we just don’t need any help.
Psalm 124 is about King David, and there were a lot of times in his life when he needed help. In this Psalm David recalls a time when his life was in great danger and God’s rescue came, as if setting him free from a trap.
Well God has set us all, who have accepted Christ Jesus, free from the snare of sin. Verse 7 “We have escaped like a bird from the hunter’s net”.
Lack of gratitude is all too common among humans. Rather than being grateful for the good gifts we have received from God, we often act as if we had a right to far more. Sometimes we complain about the privileges and blessings God has given us, and we go to great lengths to obtain more.
Other Psalms that can help us, with our gratitude to Our Lord and Our Friend for all He has done for us.
Psalm 107; Which is called a Thanksgiving for God’s Deliverance. We will only use 2 verses, the first and the last, to highlight gratitude from this Psalm.
V1: “Give thanks to The Lord, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever”.
V43: “Let whoever is wise pay attention to these things and consider The Lord’s acts of faithful love”.
The challenge to express gratitude for what we have, Psalm 92. using verse 1 and 2;
V1: “It is good to praise The Lord, to sing praise to Your name, Most High”.
V2: “to declare Your faithful love in the morning and Your faithfulness at night”.
Gratitude can help us avoid great pain and loss by living Thankful lives before The One who provides us with life and all we have.
He is an amazing God we serve, it is good to reflect on the Gratitude we all should have towards Him.
