Fasten your hearts to the love of God
Jude verse 20,21 “But you my delightfully loved friends, constantly and progressively build yourselves up on the foundation of your most holy faith by praying every moment in the Spirit. 21. Fasten your hearts to the love of God and receive the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who gives us eternal life.” (The Passion Translation)
Verse 21 in NKJV “keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”
Our Lord and Friend is exhorting us in this verse to fasten our hearts, to keep ourselves in the love of God, and His Love is unconditional. Elsewhere in the Scriptures we see “guard your hearts with all diligence for from it flow the issues of life”. How important is keeping our heart!
Song of Solomon 2:16 says “My Beloved is mine and I am His” Song of Solomon 2:4 AMPC “He brought me to the banqueting house, and His banner over me was love (for love waved as a protecting and comforting banner over my head when I was near Him)”
Beloved – I love this word. Be-loved! This is a word we may not hear so much these days – but it’s mentioned several times in the Bible. Are you willing to be-loved? The Lord is calling to us daily, moment by moment, to allow Him to love us, so we in turn, can love others as He loves us.
We who are born-again have received the Holy Spirit. He is the One Who protects, refreshes, leads, guides and teaches us all things. John 7:38 NLT “anyone who believes in Me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare ‘rivers of living water will from his heart”
“Therefore, take no thought, saying….” Matt 6:31. We are the be-loved of God. Let’s be aware of our thoughts and bring them into obedience to the Word of God, renewing our minds, growing in grace, keeping ourselves in the love of God and allowing the love of our Father God to shine through us wherever we are.
Shalom
