Favor

“May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us, establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands”. Psalm 90:17 NIV

I am constantly amazed when I contemplate that the God who is the Creator of the universe, the Giver of all life, would call us to be His sons and daughters. I am also amazed and humbled and in awe that our Lord and Friend chooses to come and dwell within our human vessels – and never leave nor forsake us. Through this intimate relationship with Him, He wants to lead us into triumph in every area.

As children of God, our inheritance is not only eternal life but also countless blessings and abundance of favor. This favor from Father God is unmerited and freely given through faith in His Son Jesus Christ.

God’s favor transforms ordinary tasks into eternal significance. His favor is more than mere kindness; it’s the beauty of God’s love and grace shining upon us. In this verse, we recognize that we can rely on God and that His favor can open doors which our efforts alone cannot. This favor implies His blessings and protective care. Psalm 5:12 “Surely Lord You bless the righteous; You surround them with favor as with a shield.”

Be encouraged today that God is for you. You are the apple of His eye; and as His favor is on you, He plans for good to come your way.

Let’s keep our focus on Him; looking with expectation for our needs to be met by the One who highly favors us because we are precious in His eyes.
