Dealing With Difficulties “Suffering”

Dealing with Difficulties Suffering

One dictionary meaning of the word “suffering”: the state of undergoing pain, misery, agony or hardship. Suffering implies conscious endurance of pain or distress.

Suffering is a product of the fall, a consequence of human sin against God. (Romans 5:12, 1 Corinthians 15:21) Suffering is in our lives because we are living in a broken world. Some suffering is due to our own sinful and wrong choices, but some is due simply to the world being fallen. We who have accepted Christ Jesus, as Our Lord, Our redeemer Our Friend, and Our All-Sufficiency, have a way to overcome.

Romans 8 verse 22 to 24; {Message Bible}; “All around us we observe a pregnant creation. The difficult times of pain throughout the world are simply birth pangs. But it’s not only around us; it’s within us. The Spirit of God is arousing us within. We’re also feeling the birth pangs. These sterile and barren bodies of ours are yearning for full deliverance. That is why waiting does not diminish us, any more than waiting diminishes a pregnant mother. we are enlarged in the waiting.”

Psalm 119 verse 71: {Using The Message Bible]; “My troubles turned out all for the best– they forced me to learn from God’s textbook”. So, we can see suffering can bring out the best in us.

Acts 14 Verse 22: “Anyone signing up for the Kingdom of God has to go through plenty of hard times”.

Also, as we endure some seasons of suffering in our journey in this life, we are encouraged that these will help us to empathize and comfort and encourage others who are suffering. 2 Corinthians 1 verses 3 to 4 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God”.

Hebrews 13 verses 5 and 6: “Don’t be obsessed with getting more material things. Be relaxed with what you have, Since God assured us, ‘I’ll never let you down, never walk off and leave you,’ we can boldly quote, God is there, ready to help; I’m fearless no matter what, Who or what can get to me?” We are never alone.

No matter what any of us go through, the word is through, we are never meant to stay, and remember Our Lord and Our friend has stated “He will never let us down”.

God Bless. Kath
