From The Heart

God’s timing
“He has made everything beautiful in its time” Ecclesiastes 3 verse 11
The New Living Translation goes on to say “He has planted eternity in the
human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work
from beginning to end.” Hmmm, in the short term, in the seasons of our life,
it’s so often difficult to see how things will work out.
So, once again, at the end of a very busy day, I am sitting in amazement at the
wonder and timing and grace of our magnificent Lord and Friend. To see how
He is able to make what seemed like chaos at the beginning of the day, turn
out at the end, to be in order, and as it should be.
I have been feeling unwell for a couple of weeks and just when I think I am
now in recovery, there is like a ‘relapse’ and I’m feeling weak and vulnerable
again. In the midst of that, we are looking at buying and selling our home and
all the twists and turns and ‘unexpected’ things that have to be dealt with in
the process.
A very dear friend used to talk about his times sailing his yacht. He described it
as ‘times of intense activity followed by times of intense rest’. To me, life can
seem a bit like that.
After a day like today, I come into my office and can honestly say ‘thank You
Lord’, You have done it again. You have sustained me when I thought I
couldn’t go any further, Your energizing power has carried me through; and I
know that in all things, You are faithful, and You enable to do all things
‘because You strengthen me. Thank You!” My ever present Help!
May the Lord strengthen and sustain you
