We have different kinds of relationships with people, and we put different labels on them, such as family member, teacher, co-worker, boss, fellow-student, fellow-worker, friend. Of all the different ways of relating, Jesus’ words to His disciples in John 15 verse 15:
“I do not call you slaves anymore, because a salve doesn’t know what his master is doing, I called you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have heard from My Father”.
A friend that loves st all times, kind of friend. Proverbs 17 verse 17: “A friend loves at all times and a brother is born for a difficult time”.
We know what friends are. They love us continually, through the ugly, self-centered days, the grumpy moods days and the painful failure days. And we know what friends are because they are reflections of Our Lord and Our Friend.
Friendship is not God’s invention He is it’s definition. Our truest friends, those who hold up arms and light our lives with their love, are mirrors of our truest Friend. Our Lord and Our Friend.
Friendship with God, comes from believing in Him, James 2 verse 23:
“So the scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness, and He was called God’s friend’.
John 3 verse 16: tells us because of what Christ Jesus achieved on the cross, any ‘Whosoever’ who believes in Him and what He did, and accepts Who He is, is covered by God’s righteousness.
From where we and any ‘whosoever’ will start a new journey with God, as Our Lord and Our Friend.
God Bless.
