Philippians 2 Verse 5: “Make your own attitude that of Christ Jesus.”
And from the Amplified Bible: “Let this same attitude and purpose and {humble} mind be in you which is in Christ Jesus— Let Him be your example of humility”.
Humility is often referred to as Bridle strength.
Verse 6: tells us, that although Jesus virtually was God, came as a servant.
Verse 7: Jesus stripped himself {of all privileges and rightful dignity} so as to assume the guise of a servant.
Complete humility, The Creator of the Universe and as the song says
Light of the world,
You stepped down into darkness .
Opened my eyes,let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore, You Hope of a life spent with You, Here I am to worship, Here I am to bow down, Here I am to say that You’re my God, You’re altogether lovely, Altogether worthy, Altogether wonderful to me King of all days, oh so highly exalted Glorious in heaven above Humbly You came to the earth You created All for love’s sake became poor And I’ll never know how much it cost To see my sin upon that cross
Complete humility, at anytime He could have said the purpose why He came was over, He had had enough.
But because of his Great Love for us, He suffered the cross, that we might have new-life in Him.
New life that starts out of humility, by letting our mindset become humble to His plans and purpose for each of our lives.
Knowing who we are in Him, but understand that without Him we can do nothing significant for His eternal purpose. We are not to think anything of ourselves, even though His presence reside in us by faith, but to let His presence in our lives, use our lives, for His purposes.
God Bless.
