JEREMIAH’S JOURNEY
Jeremiah, when God chose him to be his prophet, protested with vehemence that he was too inexperienced but God reassured him. He let him know that he would be doing God’s will through God’s power, as his servant. God is consistent in his choice of ordinary people like us to achieve his will in other’s lives. We feel we are not faithful enough, spiritual enough or fearfully inept. Yet, God places us in situations where he strengthens and acts through us to touch the hearts of hurting people who need ministry. Within his love for us he enables us to extend our spiritual compassion to others.
Jeremiah was told by God, ‘Get yourself ready! Stand up and say to them whatever I command you.’ (1/17) Jeremiah hears God’s voice, ‘Today, I have made you a fortified city, an iron pillar and a bronze wall to stand against the land. They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you.’
What power and strength God passed in blessing to Jeremiah. In today’s world, God remains consistent and will pour that power he gave Jeremiah into you. If you falter he will stand with you and rescue you. God will allow overcoming just as he did in Jeremiah’s day. Just listen for his commands.
Trust God’s consistent power, strength and overcoming rescue be yours in every situation.
Be Blessed
