THE ESTABLISHED WORLD OF GOD
In Psalm 93/1 we read, ‘The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved.’Verse 2 goes on to, ‘Your throne was established long ago; you are from all eternity.’ Then, the ocean is compared in this way, ‘The seas have lifted up their voice, the seas have lifted up their pounding waves, mightier than the thunder of the great waters.’ The kingdom of God and his earth ‘cannot be moved’. All on the earth is his, his people, his animals, his pastures and all of nature.
Psalm 95 -In his hand are the depths of the earth and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his for he made it and his hands formed the dry land…..for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Have you absorbed how often the word of God includes earth’s wonders in scripture? From psalm 96,‘Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad, let the sea resound and all that is in it,let the fields be jubilant and everything in them. Then all the trees of the forest will sing with joy. The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad, let the distant shores rejoice. Clouds and thick darkness surround him….fire goes before him…his lightning lights up the world…the mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of ALL the earth’.
What images we read in Psalm 104, ‘He wraps himself in light as with a garment, stretches out the heavens like a tent and lays the beams of his upper chamber on their waters. He makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind.’Another affirmation in Verse five reads, ‘He set the earth on its foundations,it can never be moved’. Does that mean not even by earthquakes, tidal waves, natural disasters, wars, floods, famine, fire or drought? Nor sin?Yes,believers,he has established the earth for us with constancy and consistency to the end of our days.
Psalm 105, Verse 31-‘May the glory of the Lord endure all my life. Give thanks to the Lord.
Be Blessed
