We read the Bible many times and it builds into our lives. But sometime we might read about something and miss what it is really trying to tell us. Such a scripture which is taken lightly is John 18 verse 6; “When He told them. ‘I am He,’ they stepped back and fell to the ground’”
This is about when the soldiers came to arrest Jesus, and they fell over. You might say so they fell over not much in that. But why did they fall over?
Many feel that when the soldiers asked Jesus who He was, He answered them, ‘I am He’. That was a statement of deity, and for just a moment, Jesus drew back the veil of His humanity, allowing the soldiers to see His deity. Just as no man can stand in the presence of God, they fell to the ground when they were confronted with the full Glory of Christ Jesus.
Standing before the Awesomeness of Our Lord and Our Friend, we should all fall to the ground sometimes. and rethink and re-see the Majestic Grace. of His love for each one of us.
Psalm 95 verse 6: “Come, let is worship and bow down: let us kneel before The Lord our Maker. For He is our God.”
Maybe not necessarily falling, but we should always make time to bow down afresh, to give us all a fresh vision of His love, that He has for any ‘whosoever’. that comes and accepts, and acknowledges Him.
Sometimes we go about, our daily lives to long, just trying to do our best for Him and sometimes we need to take stock and refocus on Him. Christ Jesus gave to soldiers just a glimpse of Who He real is. We who have seen and accepted Him, sometimes need to do what Hebrews 4 verse 14 tells us.
“Therefore let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and grace to help us at the proper time’“
Come before Him and just bow down. fall down. just get down, in His presence.to enjoy His loving Grace.
The Bible is full of gems, some times when we read some part, we say there is not much in that. By saying that what gems have we missed?.
