JOB SAID ‘IF ONLY’
Job was in a dark place and said,‘As surely as God lives, who has denied me justice, the Almighty, who has made me taste bitterness of the soul.’(Job-Chapter 27).
Prior to that,he was seeking in his groaning that if only he could go to God’s dwelling, he could present his case as a righteous man.He doubts finding his God, in any direction but then claims,in verse ten,
‘But he knows the way that I take, when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold’
.Reading further, Job relates of God searching the sources of the rivers and brings hidden things to light. And asks,
‘Where can wisdom be found? Where does understanding dwell?’Job declares that as long as he has the breath of God in his nostrils he will speak no deceit, not deny his integrity, stay righteous and not betray his conscience.
What a contrast of emotions Job presents, his suffering heart versus a believing faith but a questioning of the Lord’s divine purpose for his life. The God he worshiped had stripped his entire life away from him in sorrow and loss and still he clung to trusting God completely for restoration.
The circumstances of Job’s testing were ones that would take Job to the limit of his spiritual strength. His rewards were double what he had lost as God honored his faithful heart.
Has this been your experience of suffering also? Have you questioned and asked why soul piercing heartache has occurred?I know I have and I thought healing would never come. As time passed I realized I had found understanding and wisdom, acceptance, trust and a strong empathy for hurting hearts in a blessing of relationships from the spirit of my God.
My interaction with Jesus was of a deeper intimacy and a stronger intensity of his shared love.If today, you are in a ‘Job’ situation, know that God is working on it every day with understanding and in his infinite wisdom.
Be Blessed
