Faith is a belief and from the belief Faith inspires action. It is not a dutiful action, that is required, it is a love response to the Faith we have in a loving God.
When we decide what Our Lord and Our Friend has called us to be, then we should ruthlessly eliminate any habit from our lives that keeps us from Faith In Action. Eliminating any old and bad habit will require us to replace it with a good one,
I am sure we could all name habitual things that hold us back, procrastination is a good place to start. Don’t just think about what we can do, do what is in our desire of our hearts, to make a difference for Our Lord and Our Friend.
Defeat procrastination, by just doing what is in our hearts while we still have the opportunities to do it. Lets all get serious about our habitualness that hold us back. We can’t change what we are not prepared to confront in our lives. We can justify anything, so we should stop justifying things we know hold us back. Our Lord and Our Friend is always with us to help.
Luke 10 verse 19: Jesus speaking; “Look. I have given you the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy; nothing will ever harm you”.
That should be great motivation for all of us, we might like to puff out our chests, but pride is also something that can hold us back.
Lets read the next verse Luke 10 verse 20;
“However, don’t rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven”.
Our faith in action is not about us, it is all about Him and for His Glory, and what He did for us. We have eternity with Him in heaven.
Procrastination, Pride, and even Laziness to name but three, are all bad habits that can hold us back, from being actively involved in using our Faith, and displaying our faithfulness for Our Lord and Our Friend.
Our Lord and Our Friend let nothing hold Him back, when He went to the cross in our place, so let nothing hold us back. ask Him to search our hearts to reveal anything that could hold us back, in Our Faith In Action.
It might be time to change some Habits, because great habits are the result of great purpose. Our Faith In Action has a great purpose to Glorify, Our Lord and Our Friend.
