We all seem to understand Grace in relation to salvation. Ephesians 2 verses 8 to 10:
V8:”For by Grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourself; it is God’s gift”.
V9: “Not from works, so that no one can boast.”.
V10: “For we are His creation—created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them”.
The Gospel of Grace as set out in The Word of God, especially in Paul’s letters, applies to every aspect of our lives, The Gospel of Grace in our ongoing walk with Our Lord and Our Friend. Grace is described as unmerited favor, which is true. We can’t earn it, we are just not good enough, and we don’t deserve it.
The gospel of Grace could equally be described as the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Grace is not a doctrine, it is a person, and that person is Christ Jesus, John 1 verses 16 and 17:
V16: “Indeed, we have received grace after grace from His fullness”.
V17: “For although the law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ”.
Our loving trust and faith is in Jesus Christ, and the finished work of the cross. Nothing can be added to that, and nothing can be taken away from that, it is our total SUFFICIENCY.
God Bless
