Some people might say that is letting our emotions get the best of us. There is not a right way or a wrong way to express sheer reverent joy before the Lord.
It also might be said that some people go over the top, at sporting events with their excitement.
The sheer reverent excitement at coming before the Lord, must stir up more than the excitement of some sporting event.
Well King David danced before the presence of The Lord, 2 Samuel 6 verse 14:
When King David finally succeeded in bringing the ark of the covenant back to Jerusalem, he was so excited that he shamelessly threw aside his kings robes and danced before the Ark {which represented the presence of God} wearing a linen ephod. People could almost say he lost his head, but he knew full well what he was doing! The Presence of God meant more to David than anything else in his life.
King David was revealing his heart of hearts, this was sure to upset some people though, and it deeply offended his wife Michal, the daughter of King Saul.
How much do we let the feeling of others, come before expressing our heart of hearts to The lord.
Psalm 149: is about Praise for God’s Triumph, and verse 3 tells us to:
“let them praise His name with dancing and make music to Him”.
Our Lord and Our Friend wants our best, never be intimated in expressing the Joy in our heart of hearts, reverently before Him.
God Bless.
