Point To ponder ‘Water Baptism’

One of the most important responses to accepting Christ Jesus as Our Lord. Our Redeemer and Our friend, is to be baptized in water. Baptism is a response of obedience to Jesus Christ as Lord. Acts 2 verse 38 and 41.

Although baptism does not save, it demonstrates our recognition of the Lordship of Jesus over every aspect of our lives. Matthew 19 and 20:

V19: “Go, therefore, and make disciples of al nations, baptizing them in the name of The Father, and of The Son and of the Holy Spirit”,

V20: “teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you, and remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age”.

God’s Purpose:

We declare our new life in Christ through baptism.  Acts 2 verse 41:

The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, as well as our own spiritual death, burial, and resurrection, are portrayed in baptism. Romans 6 verse 3 to 5:

V3: “Or are you unaware that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?’

V4: “Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised  from the dead by the Glory of The Father, so we too may walk in a new way of life”.

V5: “For if we have been joined with Him in the likeness of His death, we will certainly also be in the likeness of His resurrection”.

New Year is a great time to reflect on Renewal, and to reflect on Baptism In Water, and what actually happens when we are or were baptized, Water Baptism is not only obedience to Our Lord and Our Friend, it is apart of the transformation to our new life In Him.

God Bless.
