The best example we can have is Our Lord and Our Friend. If we get hurt by rejection, well! He really knew what rejection was.
Isaiah 53 verese3:
“He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering who knew what sickness was. He was like one people turned away from; He was despised and we didn’t value Him”
in survey after survey, rejection ranks near the top of lists of fears people have. To deal with rejection we should expect it. In Matthew 10, Jesus prepares His disciples for rejection. Jesus knew all about rejection, and Jesus was trying to prepare His disciples for the same kind of rejection He got. Jesus was speaking of those who would be rejected because of their association with Him.
As we go about life, there will always be people that reject us, it is a fact of life we are not going to get on with everybody. even in our personal relationships, we need to realize that not everyone who pledges their undying devotion to us will actually keep that pledge. That is not to say that we should not trust our close friends, but we should not become wrapped up in any one person that our entire well-being depends on their friendship.
We have one true friend who will never reject us, He is Our Lord and Our Friend. We need to be more concerned about pleasing Him, then anyone else. When we know who we are In Christ Jesus, rejection is not really a problem to us.
The fear of having people reject us, is one of the primary reasons why we are reluctant to share our faith more. That is hard to fathom, because it is hardly exemplary conduct for somebody who claims to be a follower of Our Lord and Our Friend.
The only true example for life we have is Our Lord and Our Friend, and he suffered rejection. Suffered rejection to bring us new life, So the nest time any of us feels rejected, take it to Him, because He will never reject us, because He loves us too much.
Surround ourselves in His love and the hurt of rejection will be consumed by His Love.
God Bless.
