Down through the ages, our fellow Christians have Rejoiced in The Lord.It is a wonderful part of our following of Our Lord and Our Friend.
in 1 Thessalonians 5 verse 16 to 23. Starts with verse 16 telling us all to: V16: “Rejoice always”.
And then goes on to tell us the other great things we should do:
V17: “Pray constantly”.
V18: “Give Thanks in everything, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”.
V19: “Don’t stifle The Spirit”.
V20: “Don’t despise prophecies”.
V21: “but test all things, Hold on to what is good”.
V22: “Stay away from every form of evil”.
V23: Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely. And may your spirit, soul and body be kept sound and blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”.
Down through the centuries people have held on to these great verses from scripture, and have Rejoiced, and here is the words of a Great old Hymn, ‘Oh For A Thousand Tongues’.
1. Oh for a thousand tongues to sing
My great Redeemer’s praise;
The glories of my God and King,
The triumphs of Hid Grace.
2. My Gracious Master and My God.
Assist me to proclaim–
To spread thro’ all the earth abroad–
The honors of Thy Name.
3. Jesus, the Name that charms our fears,
That bids our sorrow cease;
T’is music in the sinner’s ears.
T’is life, and health, and peace.
4. He breaks the power of cancelled sin.
He sets the prisoners free;
His blood can make the foulest clean.
Oh for a thousand tongues to sing, Oh that everybody everywhere, would join in rejoicing in the Awesomeness Of Our Lord and Our Friend.
God Bless.
