In the forth century Christianity introduced hospitals to the world. Greeks and Romans had no such institutions of compassion. Christians moved by Christ Jesus’ words in Mathew 25 verse 36; ” I was sick and you looked after me”, built hospices as early as 325AD and 369AD. First they built them in eastern world and then the western world.
The name of numerous hospitals still reflect this Christian origin, like here in my home city; St Andrew’s, The Wesley, and The Holy Spirit.
I am sure we all can recall the names of hospitals that reflect Christian Heritage.
Christian beliefs and practices, that are consistent with Christ’s teachings, have produced countless wonderful and positive outcomes in history.
God Bless.
