Sin

Sin is something that separates us all from God.

Whether we believe it or not, somehow we all have a moral compass, something that tells us if we are doing the wrong thing or not. Most people don’t like the idea of a moral compass and the though of sin, because they like to do what they like.

Just as those in authority put laws into place for the good of all, God has put Laws into place for the good of all. If we break the laws of the land, we pay the consequences, a fine, prison, or perhaps even death.

So what so wrong to think that if we break the laws of God there are consequences. The only differences is that nobody can keep the laws of God and if the say they have they are not telling the truth.

Romans 3 verse 23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

1 John 1 verse 8 “If we say ‘We have no sin,’ we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.”

God knew this and there was no way back for us, because God hates sin. {But loves the sinner]

How sad we have all fallen short for our relationship which we were created for to be restored to the God that created us. Jesus who was and is God, repeatedly made known the reason He came, was to pay the penalty for all of us if we believe. But the good news is;

1 John 1 verse9 “If we confess our sins. {wrong doings against God’s Laws} He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness {those wrong doings that separate us from God}.

The wages of sin {the penalty for sin} was death, so Christ Jesus paid the ultimate price for us by dying on the cross.

Death could not hold Him down, Jesus rose again to new life after death, to give us new life after we were dead in sin.

Christians are those who believe in Jesus Christ, trusting that His sacrifice on the cross has paid the penalty for their sins.

At the cross, God put His righteousness on display by demonstrating how serious He is to punish Sin.

At the cross God also put His Love and Mercy on display because it is through the cross that multitudes of sinners enjoy eternal life.

The next time you get a traffic infringement, you have sinned against the laws of the land, a penalty must be paid.

The next time any or all of us, fail to live up to God’s requirements {the Laws that God has put in place}, a penalty has been paid and it was paid for all who accept Christ Jesus as Lord and Friend. But remember keep short accounts about wrong doings in our lives, and God said if we confess our wrong doings {sin] He is faithful and just to forgive them.

Sin will keep us from firing on all cylinders in our work For Our Lord and Our Friend. God Bless.
