When We look at some of the important functions of The Holy Spirit in our lives.
The Holy Spirit puts a seal on us.
The Holy Spirit is God’s guarantee to us, that we are His.
The Seal speaks of the finished transaction.
This is even evident in the secular world today. When import legal documents are processed, they are stamped with a seal, to signify the completion of the transaction.
The seal means security and protection. The Romans put a seal on the tomb of Jesus.
So, we as believers belong to God, and are safe and protected because of the finished work of the cross.
The sea; is a mark of authenticity, Jesus as a signatory on the document attests to the genuineness of the document {our lives}. So the presence of The Holy Spirit guarantees the believers genuineness.
Receiving The Holy Spirit is not simply our mouths profession, our religious activity, or our good works, it is our witness that The Holy Spirit resides in our lives, and the fruit we bear because of it.
We are mark with a Seal, to be set apart to bring Glory to Our Lord and Our Friend, Who loves us dearly.
And food for thought:
Perhaps The Passion Translation of Psalm 91 verse : speaks about being sealed by God, in The New Covenant.
“When you sit enthroned under the shadow of Shaddai, you are hidden in the strength of the most High.”
“sit enthroned” , the Hebrew word ‘yashab’ is often associated with one seated as royalty.
We will also reign with Him 2 Timothy 2 verse 12:
God Bless.
