Emmanuel God with us

Matthew 1:23 “Behold the virgin shall become pregnant and give birth to a Son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which, when translated, means, God with us. AMP (Also see Isaiah 7:14) How wonderful. Emmanuel, God is with us.

Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder, and His Name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”

Wonderful – Our Lord and Friend is wonderful. I am in awe and wonder of the Father’s great love for us – He gave His Son. He so desires a relationship with us.

Counselor – trusted advisor, wisdom and truth, comfort and direction, can be found as we seek Him and His Word.

Mighty God – is anything too hard for the Lord? No! He is the Mighty Warrior Who saves.

Everlasting Father. How long is everlasting? Forever! He is our Father forever. What confidence comes as we contemplate that our Father is everlasting – no beginning and no end. Abba Father, Daddy God. If God be for you, who can be against you?

Prince of Peace –our Lord and Friend, has come by His Spirit to dwell in our hearts as we invite Him in. We have access to peace that passes understanding; love that surpasses knowledge. His very Presence, all that He is, dwelling in us. Kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness. He is the God of hope.

Let our hearts take courage therefore, as we reflect in this Christmas season, looking to the new year of 2025, knowing that our God is working all things together for good for those who love Him.
