We were all created in God’s image, both male and female. So God is a Patriarch and a Matriarch. So if we understand that, some of the writings of Timothy become clearer.

In Ephesus he biggest temple was the temple of Artemis. Artemis was a female deity, so the priest were all female. When Paul encouraged the women in Ephesus to study the faith and learn.

Paul was advocating something counter to the first century culture from which he and the first church originated. But he might have added that a woman should not ‘assume’ authority over a man’, and the reason in part was because the nearby cult of Artemis had elevated woman to the place where men had become inconsequential, and he didn’t want Christianity to be seen as a new cult that did the same.

So Paul reminded the believers of the gender roles that God established at creation

But when a brother or sister accepts Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend, all things change because Romans 4 verse 13: tells us:

“I am able to do all things through Him who strengthens me”.

2 Corinthians 5 Verse 17:

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation; old things have passed away and look,new things have come.”

It is not a restriction woman, it is calling us all to be different from the world.
