Daniel and The King

kingdom

Contrast in people lives, and people lifestyles is none more evident than the story of Daniel and King Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel 2  verse 1 to 49;

It is really the different between to Kingdoms, The Kingdom of God, and The Kingdom of this world, they both worship something. Daniel representing The Kingdom of God, which has great blessing and promises, and Our God who will constantly walk with us, here and in eternity.

King Nebuchadnezzar’ worldly kingdom, representing the Kingdom of the world, something we come out of, when we accept what Our Lord and Our Friend did on the cross, for any ‘whosoever’. John 3 verse 16:

In Nebuchadnezzar’ kingdom respect was given to the arts which we describe as psychic or occult. This reckoning comes from, the king has had a dream. He appears unreasonable in his demand that devotees of these {for want of a better word} arts, should tell him the dream. Those who practiced these practices must prove themselves, if they cannot, they are discredited.

The king is only a religious man in the broadest sense, like most people are today. In his kingdom are the influences of various religious practices and he does not belong to any in particular. A picture of today society, most people know a bit about every kind of religion, but not much understanding of Truth.

Daniel’s spiritual life contrasts  remarkably to that of the king’s. Daniel is concerned for others apart from himself, and shows great courage and presences of mind when the king decrees all those practicing that dark art, who were called wise men {for some reason} be put to death.

Daniel shares the problem with his friends and they all come together, to seek God in prayer. God has given Daniel understanding of vision and dreams and can speak to him in a direct way, and the Mystery of Nebuchadnezzar’  dream was revealed.

Like in Daniel’s time, today we can be caught up in the ways and thinking of the world, and all it strange views on virtually everything, and be worldly people.

Like in Daniel’s time, we can choose to be like Daniel, a true person of Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend, and can see more clearly, than any practitioner of occult arts, and worldly ways of thinking.

We are called to be Kingdom of God people, living for Him, in the kingdom of this world, just as Daniel lived in two kingdoms.

God Bless.
